Posted by Cardiff Blues have moved to ease their back row injury crisis by bringing Bristol flanker Olly Robinson to the Arms Park on a short-term loan.
Wales’ Capital Region have announced the signing from the English Championship side, and confirmed he is available for selection ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Connacht.
The son of former England and Scotland head coach Andy Robinson, the openside has made 55 Bristol appearances in all competitions since signing from Moseley in 2014.
He was the West Country side’s top scorer in both 2014/15 and 2015/16, with 25 tries across the two seasons, and made 13 appearances as Bristol were relegated from the Aviva Premiership last year.
Despite that the Loughborough University graduate was offered a contract extension in March, but has found appearances limited so far this season. Robinson’s solitary outing came in last week’s 50-5 win over Richmond.
The 26-year-old will cover the openside berth, which Cardiff Blues currently only have Josh Navidi available for.
British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton was ruled out for four months last week, having only returned to training recently, after aggravating a long-standing neck injury which requires surgery to rectify.
Ellis Jenkins has also gone under the knife having ripped part of his hamstring from the bone in the pre-season win over Exeter, while Jim Botham has undergone ankle surgery after picking up an injury playing for Cardiff RFC.
