This week Glasgow fan @thepenGW returns to the Opposition View as he gives his thoughts on the unbeaten Conference A leaders ahead of our game on Friday night.
How pleased are you with Glasgow’s season so far?
Absolutely delighted! It’s been a dream start for the Warriors and winning every single game, many with a bonus point, has been better than anyone of us could have hoped for. Dave Rennie’s made a big difference to the way we play and he’s rotated the squad with great effect. All in all, there’s been a lot to smile about!
What has been the standout game?
Three games stand out particularly. Taking Munster apart, winning at altitude against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein with a bonus point was huge, and the bonus point victory against Leinster where the team showed their ability to play fantastic attacking rugby and then park the bus. These three games were massive wins and cemented our credentials as possible Champions.

Who has been the standout player for you?
Callum Gibbins is the one that most fans, including myself, have been raving about. He’s added a lot of bite to the back row and he’s contributed with a few tries too. He’s a different player to what we had and being available during the international window has helped the side significantly.
We’ve also got George Horne who has come in and done a fantastic job for such a young player and shows that the Warriors have terrific strength in depth.
What are the hopes for the rest of the season now?
To be Pro14 champions! A home semi final is an absolute must given how the season has started and we’ll end up being disappointed with anything else.
What did you think of our game earlier in the season?
We should have lost. Simple as that. Cardiff played better and were deserving of the win. I was delighted that the kick went wide but we got lucky.

What have you made of Cardiff Blues generally so far?
Very hit and miss. I hate to say they’ve really struggled but the win against Connacht last week will give them heart and a bit of momentum.
Prediction for Friday night?
I’m hoping for a bonus point win and to be 10 from 10. I think the side we’ve selected is strong enough to do that and keep the streak going…
Thanks again to @thepenGW and here’s hoping for an entertaining fixture at Scotstoun on Friday.
