Scrum V have provisionally released their televised fixtures for the new year, with two Cardiff RFC games selected for live coverage as the season reaches it’s climax.
We already knew the new year would kick-off with the cameras covering the home fixture against Pontypridd on New Year’s Day, and this will be followed two weeks later by another derby as the trip to Newport will be shown on Friday 11th January.
Then as the season draws to a close, the home game against Bridgend will be screened live from the Arms Park on Friday 29th March.
Cardiff currently sit third in the Principality Premiership after a run of seven straight wins that has left the Blue and Blacks just eight points off top place Merthyr, and crucially 22 points ahead of 12th place Bargoed.
It doesn’t appear any games in the last four rounds have been selected for television coverage yet, with BBC waiting until closer to the time to determine which teams are in danger of the relegation spots.
The fixture choices are also subject to change, as two RGC home games have been selected for coverage with Pontypridd and Carmarthen likely to object having to travel to North Wales for a Friday evening kick-off.
