Speaking before Friday night’s heavy defeat at the hands of Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun, the Australian spoke about the possibility of Hallam Amos and Josh Adams arriving at the Arms Park at the end of the year.
“Hallam is off contract with the Dragons at the end of the season,” said Mulvihill. “The Dragons will be keen to keep him, but that’s one of the areas we will be looking to strengthen. He is someone we will speak to.
“There are some specific areas we will be looking to strengthen; our outside backs, second row and back row.
“I think Josh will be a target for all four regions. We will definitely be putting our hand up.”
Sunday’s Welsh edition of The Rugby Paper has also linked Wales international winger Steff Evans with a switch to Cardiff Blues at the end of the season when his contract with the Scarlets runs out.
All three signings would be quite a coup for the club, with John Mulvihill keen to add some pace and try scoring quality to a back three that doesn’t currently provide any players to Warren Gatland’s Wales squad.
As well as these three, TRP have also linked Ospreys hooker Scott Baldwin with a move to the Arms Park in what he will hope will re-ignite his international career.
The 30-year-old has 34 caps to his name currently but hasn’t featured for Wales since playing on the 2017 summer tour, and has slipped behind Scott Otten in the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium.
He would compete with Kris Dacey for the starting berth at Cardiff Blues, as Matthew Rees is expected to bring his long and illustrious career to a close at the end of the season.
