Posted by Cardiff Blues have announced that fly-half Jarrod Evans has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new contract, following the lead of Josh Navidi.
The 22-year-old has become a key first team squad member since the start of last season, with 58 appearances in all competitions to date, and over 250 points to his name as he helped us to the European Challenge Cup title and to a return to Heineken Champions Cup action in 2017/18.
He has also broken into the Wales squad already, making his debut off the bench against Scotland in the Autumn and was named in the Guinness Six Nations wider squad, although has been released to Cardiff Blues every weekend so far.
Speaking to the Cardiff Blues official website, Evans said, “This is my home region and I’m obviously really happy here, so it was a simple decision to put pen to paper. We demonstrated last season, by winning the Challenge Cup, what we are capable of and the potential we have at Cardiff Blues.
“I feel like we are getting better and we have a lot of young players coming through the ranks to complement the more experienced heads. It is an exciting place to be and with the style of rugby we try to play, and the environment we have, it is the best place for me to continue my development.
“We have some massive games coming up this season, starting with Saturday against the Kings, and we are determined to secure that top three finish and Heineken Champions Cup rugby.”
