Four Cardiff players have been named in the Crawshays invitational squad for Wednesday night’s game against Swansea Valley-based side Vardre RFC.

Tighthead prop Ollie Drake, second row Rory Bartle, fly-half Jack Maynard and winger Ryan Edwards have all been included in the 25-man squad for the clash in Clydach which is part of Vardre’s centenary celebrations.

There are also the familiar faces of 2018/19 Specsavers Cup winning squad members Scott Gibson, the scrum-half now at Brecon, and Morgan Griffiths, the winger now at Carmarthen Quins. Jack Maynard’s brother Scott, the Llandovery scrum-half, is also included, as is Owen Young, the Ebbw Vale back rower and son of Cardiff first team director of rugby David.

Crawshays will be managed by former Cardiff full-back Jonathan Westwood, with Gavin Dacey, brother of Kristian, part of the coaching staff.
